The renovation of Alexander House is part of a redevelopment plan to encompass an entire square block in downtown Silver Spring, to become part of a new Arts and Entertainment District.

Alexander House Apartments was originally constructed in 1992. The property is a sixteen-story building with a three-level underground parking garage. Once completed, the building will contain 305 units, a new ground floor plaza, management offices, and maintenance and engineering rooms.
